Would you care for butter in your coffee sir?

WHAT?

Many of my Paleo/Cross fit clients know about the bulletproof coffee where grass fed butter is added with medium chain triglycerides such as coconut oil. Both of these fats actually help your neurology and stabilize blood sugar! This may sound a bit out there but I’ve developed a recipe that tastes good and has anti-inflammatory support to increase brain support and promote weight loss. Cheers!

Dr. Autoimmune Recipe:

  • Coffee (decaf, espresso (50% less caffeine than drip)), or a coffee substitute like teeccino: 1 cup
  • Kerry gold butter: 2 tablespoons
  • Coconut oil or canned coconut milk (I prefer native forest): 2-3 tablespoons or more if desired
  • Egg Yolks: 1-2
  • 100% cocoa: 1 teaspoon
  • Vanilla: 1 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon: two good shakes
  • Nutmeg: one shake
  • Clove: one shake
  • Olive oil: 1 teaspoon

I blend all of that up and try to sip it over the next two hours. First, by delaying the consumption I also delay any loosening of my bowels and secondly I can typically use this recipe to get me to lunch, effectively keeping me in ketosis!

PS It tastes awesome!
